30. Happy Cinco de Mayo Star Wars Exquisite Corpses
Today is Cinco de Mayo. Normally a pretty big celebration normally happens here in San Antonio, but today is different. Cinco de Mayo is a celebration of the victory of the Mexican Army over the French Army at the Battle of Puebla in 1862. That in mind we take yesterday's Star Wars theme and throw some festive clothes on me and through a little bit more pop culture to create what is called an exquisite corpse lesson. The question I'm forecasting is...Do you need to do Star Wars? Do you need to do a tiger? Do you need to do Cinco de Mayo? No. No you don't. Just get six pieces of paper. Hold them together portrait style. Hot dog fold. Draw a line, splitting it up into thirds. Draw a top part. A middle part. and a bottom part. Essentially, a head, a torso and legs of six different people, creatures or objects. I chose c3p0, r2d2, myself, baby shark, a tiger and baby yoda. I cut along after the drawing was done...I cut along the lines separating the top from the middle and the middle from the legs (best to watch the video for this part...It's towards the end) and then I made new creatures. Terryl Whitlach, lead Lucas Film Creature/Alien Creator would go to the San Diego Zoo and come up with ideas for characters doing just this same lesson. Some of them are silly. Some of them are cool. Some of them...are like...Eh..I didn't really like...But you won't find out until you try. Do them in oil pastels, markers or paint. When you're done. Take a pic and upload it to seesaw or email me at [email protected] or [email protected] or upload it to artsonia. The code is yxhn-krpp.
Thanks
